Solvent-Free Mechanochemical Preparation of Metal-Organic Framework ZIF-67 Impregnated by Pt Nanoparticles for Water Purification

In this study, the crystalline metal-organic framework (MOF) ZIF-67 was obtained using solvent-free ball milling method, which is a fast, simple, and economical green method without need to use solvents. Using impregnation platinum metal ions were loaded in MOF cavities. Various descriptive methods have been used explain prepared Pt@ZIF-67 compound, such as FTIR, BET, TEM, SEM, EDS, XRD, TGA, ICP. Based on this, results showed that Pt nanoparticles (0.26 atom%) located inside pores of ZIF-67. addition, no evidence supports their accumulation surface. The efficiency approved reduction toxic harmful nitrophenol compounds water. removal 4-nitrophenol aqueous medium successfully achieved with 94.5% conversion an optimal time 5 min NaBH4, catalyzed by Pt@ZIF-67. Additionally, recoverable tested for five qtr runs, reasonable efficiency.
